INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Modern Business Approach

Following a modern business approach and aiming to fully meet all current and future needs and requirements of its product and service customers, the Highway Institute, Belgrade established a quality system in 1998 according to the ISO 9001 standard.

The activities at the Highway Institute are aligned with the requirements of the standards:
SRPS ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems,
SRPS ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management systems,
SRPS ISO 39001:2016 for road traffic safety management systems, and
SRPS ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety management systems.

The Integrated Management System (IMS) encompasses all business processes of the Highway Institute at its main location at Bulevar Peka Dapčevića 45, Belgrade, and all locations where the organization conducts work or provides other services to customers.
The IMS pertains to: research work in road engineering, laboratory testing of road construction materials, geological-geotechnical investigations, preparation of geodetic bases, traffic and environmental protection studies and analyses, professional supervision, laboratory testing, design of roads, urban traffic routes, bridges, tunnels, airports, and other engineering structures; technical documentation expertise and operational structure evaluations; and product certification activities.

Integrated Management System Policy

The management system policy is based on establishing, implementing, and maintaining a market-oriented business system and the principles of an integrated management system.

Its goal is to fully satisfy the demands, needs, and expectations of our clients and service users, with a continuous improvement of the management system's effectiveness in accordance with the requirements of SRPS ISO 9001:2015, SRPS ISO 14001:2015, SRPS ISO 39001:2016, and SRPS ISO 45001:2018 standards.

The fundamental principles and commitments of the Institute's management system policy are:
• Meeting clients' requirements and expectations regarding deadlines, quality, cost-effectiveness of solutions, and compliance with legal and other regulations in all fields.
• Commitment to fulfilling legal and other requirements related to environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and road traffic safety.
• The leadership will continuously impose the imperative of meeting the requirements and expectations of the Institute's service clients. The development of capabilities and motivation of leading staff and all employees will be encouraged, along with a conscious and active attitude towards the Institute's goals.
• Commitment to providing safe and healthy working conditions to prevent work-related injuries and health impairments, eliminating hazards, and reducing OH&S and RTS risks.
• Through overall work and business, corporate responsibility for broader social aspirations and public interest will be expressed, rejecting business policies focused on short-term effects at the expense of business reputation, professional principles, and strategic commitments.
• Strategic objectives are planned based on this policy, considering the context of the Institute, taking into account risks that may affect processes, quality, the environment, occupational health and safety, and traffic safety for employees of the INSTITUTE and users of the Republic of Serbia's road infrastructure.
• By choosing solutions in its projects and services, the Institute will contribute to general human safety (OH&S and RTS), environmental protection, and conservation of non-renewable natural resources.
• The leadership will give particular importance and encourage development activities and projects aimed at improving technologies and methodologies of work and expanding the scope of the Institute's services in the market.
• Enhancing the knowledge and awareness of employees about environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and road traffic safety through appropriate training.
• The Institute will closely monitor the development of legal and technical regulations and standardization in its fields of work and actively participate in societal and governmental efforts to harmonize with international criteria, ensuring a significant place in the national quality infrastructure in the field of construction.
• Following and incorporating all current global achievements in its fields of work into its practice, along with systematic staff education and providing the necessary material basis, will maintain a high level of adaptability to new market demands.
• Establishing partnerships with all interested parties in a way that transfers responsibility for quality, ecology, and product safety requirements to them.
• Commitment to the continuous improvement of the integrated management system, as well as consulting and involving all employees regarding occupational health and safety issues.

The content of this policy is appropriately communicated to:

• All employees at the Institute to promote commitment to the system, and
• Interested parties.
This policy is prominently displayed at the Institute and communicated to employees of other employers working for the Institute.
Based on this policy, the leadership will define goals and programs for achieving the objectives annually.
