Projects and Research
During its existence, the Highway Institute has completed numerous studies, projects, and other research, analyses, and expert evaluations in the fields of traffic, geology, geotechnics, hydraulics, environmental protection, and more, including:
• Over 300 traffic studies on road network development, sectoral traffic studies within spatial plans, traffic studies for cities, transportation models and traffic management studies, methodological studies, regulations, guidelines, etc.
• Over 200 scientific research studies in the fields of traffic, geotechnics, geology, pavement structures, construction technology, production and processing technology of construction materials, environmental protection, and various other studies, analyses, and expert evaluations within the domain of the Institute's activities.
• Over 4000 various road and urban traffic projects
• Over 100 General Projects with accompanying studies
• A large number of projects in both domestic and international contexts, including:
• About 5000 km of highways
• About 14,000 km of main, regional, and local roads and city bypasses
• About 4500 various bridge structures and spans
• About 150 tunnels
• Pavement structures on about 500 km of highways, about 1500 km of new roads, and about 2000 km of rehabilitated roads
• Airport runways at about 30 airports

• Professional technical supervision and construction control over about 30,000 km of various categories of roads
• Defined geotechnical conditions for the construction of about 2000 km of highways and 5000 km of main and regional roads
• Numerous geotechnical investigations for the construction of road facilities, tunnels (over 100), and bridges (over 700), as well as numerous geotechnical investigations of stabilization conditions and preparation of construction projects for land instability remediation, including well-known landslides such as "Umka," "Duboko," "Ražanj," near the "Sloboda" bridge, "Begaljica," and others.
