GEOTECHNICS

Work of the Geotechnics Department

The Geotechnics Department is a unique organizational unit of the Highway Institute, equipped to carry out project-research work in the fields of geology and geotechnics. These are essential for planning, designing, constructing, and operating structures, especially low-rise structures such as roadways. The main motto of this department, from its inception to the present day, is the continuous insistence on a leading role in the application of highly specialized work within its field.

The department has modern field and laboratory equipment for geomechanical testing, necessary for performing its activities within the accredited Geomechanics Laboratory.
