Scientific Conference “Impact of Natural Disasters”

Scientific Conference “Impact of Natural Disasters – Landslides, Rockfalls, Floods, and Earthquakes on Buildings and Infrastructure – Research, Monitoring, Prevention, and Remediation”

On 14 November 2025, in Belgrade, at the “Nikola Tesla” Engineers’ House, the Scientific Conference “Impact of Natural Disasters: Landslides, Rockfalls, Floods, and Earthquakes on Buildings and Infrastructure – Research, Monitoring, Prevention, and Remediation” was held. The event was organized by the Engineering Academy of Serbia and the Union of Engineers and Technicians of Serbia, with the active participation of the Institute for Roads as a co-organizer.

The conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia and gathered numerous experts, researchers, and authors from Serbia and the region, as well as a large number of institutional representatives and guests.

On behalf of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, the conference was addressed by Dr. Ivan Janković, Assistant Minister for Geology and Mining, who officially opened the event. He emphasized the importance of holding such scientific and professional gatherings, which make a concrete contribution to improving risk-management systems and reducing the impact of natural disasters on critical infrastructure and construction facilities.

The audience was also addressed by the President of the Engineering Academy of Serbia, Professor Emeritus Dr. Ilija Ćosić, as well as the President of the Union of Engineers and Technicians of Serbia, Dr. Igor Marić.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, the moderator of the conference, and the author of two scientific papers was Branko Jelisavac, B.Sc. Geol. Eng.
