The Highway Institute was established by a decree of the Government of the \nPeople's Republic of Serbia in 1950.
With task to scientifically study and propose solutions for the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads and bridges in the People's Republic of Serbia. The Highway Institute assumed its current form in 1972 when it integrated with the Bureau for Studies and Design of Roads and Bridges, which was established by the Decision of the Government of the People's Republic of Serbia, number 105, on April 6, 1950. The most significant events in the history of the Institute include the beginnings of the following activities:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    In the period from 1982 to 1990, the Highway Institute was nominated by the World Bank \u2013 Economic Development Institute (EDI) and the Dutch Government to organize a six-week course titled \"Techno-Economic Justification of Planning, Designing, Construction, and Maintenance of Roads in Developing Countries\". This course was attended by 250 experts from 20 countries in Asia, 23 countries in Africa, and 10 countries in Central and South America.
    From 1950 to 2005, the Highway Institute organized the following within its core activities: 7 symposia, 3 scientific-professional gatherings, 3 international meetings, 20 consultations, 1 conference, and 5 seminars.
    In addition to its work and activities within the former Yugoslavia, the Highway Institute has also provided services in the following countries: Libya, Iraq, Algeria, Russia, Gabon, Egypt, Congo, Angola, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Zambia, Malaysia, Jordan, and others.<\/p>


    Today, the Institute, with its professional staff, modern equipment, and over 70 years of experience, is capable of solving the most complex tasks in the fields of traffic, transportation, road management systems, engineering structures, construction materials, geotechnics, design, construction technology, and environmental protection.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
